Thieves steal thousands of dollers worth of scallops. How shellfish of them

They were stolen from a protected area of Loch Sligachan where a farmer had exclusive rights.

David Oakes, from Sconser, has now offered a £1000 reward for information leading to a successful prosecution.

He said: “A lot of the top restaurants want the really big scallops.”

He added that protected areas attracted thieves because divers and dredgers had caused over-fishing.
