Ket.org – Families Stand Together: Feeling Secure in Tough Times features brief documentaries about real-life families and the story of a Muppet family coping with the ups and downs of uncertain economic times. Hosted by Al Roker, Deborah Roberts and Elmo and his friends, the special offers help, hope and strategies for families and encourages children to express their feelings and ideas as their families adjust to a new life. The program airs Wednesday, Sept. 9 at 8/7 p.m. CT on KET2 and KET HD and Sunday, Sept. 13 at 2/1 p.m. CT on KET1.
In today’s economic climate, many middle-class families are at high risk of losing their economic security. Moreover, increases in job loss and income cuts have made families struggle with basic costs like housing, medical care, transportation, food, clothing and child care. Too often, parents are being forced to make difficult decisions that affect their children’s well-being.
