CNN – TV dance judge Mary Murphy said singer Chris Brown’s attack on his girlfriend, Rihanna, prompted her to talk publicly about spousal abuse that she says she suffered first as a teenage bride three decades ago.

Murphy — the vivacious judge on Fox TV’s “So You Think You Can Dance” — told CNN’s Larry King that she wants other victims to learn from how she endured, but escaped, domestic violence.

Discovering her talent with dance eventually changed her life and helped her flee the relationship after nine years, she said.

Her ex-husband strongly denied that he ever physically or mentally abused Murphy, whom he married in 1978 soon after they met as teenagers in college.

“I did just tuck it away and just buried it and went on with my life and I thought that, you know, I could leave it there and I wanted to leave it there until my father died a couple years ago,” Murphy said.

MSNBC – North Korean leader Kim Jong Il has pardoned two jailed American journalists and ordered their release following an unannounced meeting with former President Bill Clinton, the North’s state media said Wednesday.

The release of Laura Ling and Euna Lee was a sign of North Korea’s “humanitarian and peace-loving policy,” the Korean Central News Agency reported.

Clinton met with the reclusive and ailing Kim on Tuesday, shortly after landing in the capital Pyongyang. It was Kim’s first meeting with a prominent Western figure since his reported stroke nearly a year ago.

Little Kim and his Dong Rocket might not be so Poo-Owerful as once thought. U.S. can feel less worried this 4th, Little Kim still roney.

BBC News – The strong statement said China did not recognize the 31m euro (£28m, $39m) sale of the bronze rat and rabbit.

It also ordered tighter checks on artifacts that Christie’s auction house takes into or out of China.

The bronzes were sold as part of the estate of late French fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent.

FT.com – China will continue to buy US Treasury bonds even though it knows the dollar will depreciate because such investments remain its “only option” in a perilous world, a senior Chinese banking regulator said on Wednesday.

China has used the dollars it accumulates selling manufactured goods to US consumers to accumulate the world’s largest holding of Treasuries.

The record crowd crammed into the National Mall composed of the Capitol, White House and Lincoln Memorial. Obama spoke of the resiliency of Americans and the United States of America as it deals with tough economic times, high unemployment rates and international turmoil all across the globe. Obama emphasized that his administration would lead by example by taking full accountability for its actions and by improving dialog with nations and peoples all across the world.

China warns that a declining economy may result in lower quality of their food and drugs. Lead covered toys anyone?

Chinese officials warned that Chinese food and drug makers my cut corners and ignore quality standards in a declining economy.

China has been rocked by a number of scandals in recent years involving unsafe food and drugs which have sometimes killed people and prompted global recalls of Chinese-made goods.

At least six children last year died from drinking milk formula adulterated with melamine, an industrial compound used to cheat nutrition tests, and more than 290,000 fell ill with kidney stones. China has put on trial a number of company officials and farmers accused of producing and selling the toxic milk.

So the next time you are at Wal-Mart and getting those Yellow Dot Price Cut Deals you may want to check if it’s made in China. Which I can probably bet that probably 90% of Wal-Mart merchandise is made in China.
