NewsWatch5 – SUNY Potsdam President Dr. John Schwaller has won an $8,600 salary hike, three months after warning that salaries need to be trimmed, according to the Daily Courier Observer.

In response to Mayor Bloomberg of NYC about the rich feeling the pinch in this economy.

“I had coffee with an old friend,” Bloomberg said. “Her two sons live in Europe, and she’s worried about losing her house.

“One son is in the movie business, and every project he’s been working on is canceled. The other works for a bank and is worried about losing his job.

“Restaurants are half full or less . . . A friend was in Bergdorf’s and said there were only four shoppers on the whole floor . . . They counted. It’s a disaster.”

U.S. Airways ‘Miracle’ Flight 1549 passengers feeling a little tad unappreciated for their death defying water landing stunt.

US Airways sent a raft of “frigid” letters to the 150 passengers of miracle Flight 1549 (above) saying their death-defying ordeal has earned them top customer status – but for just one year, The Post has learned.

Some who were on the plane – brought down by a flock of geese after takeoff from La Guardia Airport on Jan. 15 – said the temporary tease of first-class perks is for the birds.

Hmm, I don’t know how I would feel but I doubt I would fly more than once in a one year timespan. I’d almost accept free booze over first class. I’m just saying.

You know your presidency is a cultural phenomenon when the drug dealers name their latest variety of heroin after you.

Recordonline.com – Sheriff’s deputies and investigators have broken a heroin distribution ring that dished out narcotics across more than half of Sullivan County in New York.

The alleged dealers were pushing a variety of heroin that they called “Obama.” Chaboty said dealers are known to stamp the glassine wax paper that carries the heroin with brand names — like “Black Death” or “Blue Sunshine” — so that users can identify their preferred brands. This drug ring’s stamp happened to carry the new president’s surname.
