CNN Money.com – Stocks tumbled Monday, with the Dow and S&P 500 falling to 12-year lows after insurance company American International Group’s huge quarterly loss added to worries about the financial sector and the economy.

The Dow fell 444.99 points today, closing at 7,552.29. Ouch.

The S&P 500 fell 54.14 points today, closing at 752.44. Ouch.

The Dow is now at its lowest point since March 2003.

The S&P 500 is now at its lowest point since April 1997.
